Heating water is one of the quietest, most expensive things your electricity bill does. An electric water heater can account for a large share of a household’s monthly units, and it runs whether the sun is shining or not.

A solar hot water system changes that arithmetic. Roof-mounted collectors heat water directly using sunlight, storing it in an insulated tank so you have hot water in the evening from energy you collected at midday. On overcast days a backup element takes over, so you are never left with a cold shower.

Hayleys Solar sizes each system to a household’s daily hot water usage rather than to a standard tank size – a family of six and a couple in an apartment have very different needs. Installation is handled by our own team, and the system is covered by the same after-sales service as our rooftop PV.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a solar hot water system work on cloudy days?

Yes. Systems include an electric backup element for low-sunlight periods, so hot water is always available.

Can I have solar hot water and rooftop solar panels together?

Yes, provided there is enough suitable roof area. We assess this during the site survey.

How is the right tank size decided?

By your household’s daily hot water usage – number of occupants and typical bathing patterns – not by a standard size.

Who maintains the system after installation?

Our after-sales service and maintenance team.
